Zombie Café puts an undead twist on the Cafe World formula

If Zynga’s Cafe World had a zombie outbreak, it would look a lot like Zombie Café. The two games are similar in a lot of ways, but only one has zombies serving handburgers to unsuspecting customers. We’ll let you guess which one.
In the world of Zombie Café the undead can be docile, which makes them perfect for the service industry. You’ll be running a dingy restaurant and your only employees would probably rather be eating the customers. But instead, they work tirelessly for you. The set-up is simple: you have a menu from which you can cook meals, each of which takes a certain amount of time to cook and provides a certain number of servings. If you run out of food, you'll have nothing to sell. While a meal is cooking, someone (either you or a zombie employee) needs to be watching over it, while everyone else handles serving the customers. Keeping them happy will earn you cash and experience that can be used to upgrade your restaurant and unlock new content.

But it wouldn’t be much of a zombie game if that was all there was to it. Your zombie helpers all have energy meters, and if you have them working while they’re too tired they’ll begin attacking customers, chasing away any potential sales. So you’ll need to rest them regularly. As you gain levels you’ll be able to add more employees, which you can do by infecting poor helpless customers.
Your restaurant isn’t the only one on the block, however. There’s competition everywhere. To tilt the odds toward yourself, you can send your zombies out to attack nearby restaurants. Depending on their level of fatigue and how your experience stacks up against your competition, a winner will be declared. If you win there’ll be some bonuses in it for you, but if you lose you’ll need to reanimate your zombie workforce, which takes time.

The gameplay is fun, if not particularly original, but what makes Zombie Café so enjoyable is its disturbing sense of humor. You’ll be serving meals that consist of everything from bowls of dishwater soup to gelatin molds filled with eyeballs. Why anyone would ever eat at your restaurant remains a mystery. Maybe it’s the service. The visuals contribute quite a bit to the humor of the game, with cartoon zombies shambling around and terrified customers waving their arms in the air. And when a human dies, a black “censored” bar covers up all the gory bits.
Zombie Café isn't all that different from Cafe World, but its undead theme, and all of the gameplay twists that go along with it, make it a much better experience. It’s pretty simple, and there will be times when you have nothing to do besides sitting and waiting for a meal to finish cooking or for a zombie to resurrect. But it’s all worth it when you get to serve people Hobo Delight. Whatever that might be.

19 Weird And Wonderful Ways To Hold Your iPhone In Place

Wow.  Is this the craziest thing you've ever seen, or what?  An iPhone docking station that looks like a slice of bread.  With a bite taken out of it.  Clearly the work of someone who's (a) very creative and/or (b) has WAAAAY too much time on their hands.
The bottom line is, there really are a ton of iPhone docks out there.  Some commercial, with lots of value-added bells, whistles, and gongs.  Others hand-made, low-tech, quick and dirty, and just as effective in the long run.  And in the end, all serve the same purpose: hold your iDevice in place while it charges and syncs.
Let's help you to choose a dock that will perfectly suit your needs and way of life.  Here you will find absolutely unique, creative and even crazy ideas for iPhone docks that will impress you, both in terms of usability and distinctive look. The right dock will greatly compliment your work table or home interior design, as well as simplifying your life.

I found this dock rather convenient and easy to implement: it's fixed into the wall, and you just drop your iPhone in. The dock is available with a remote control, and perfect for music listeners. Facebook 3.1 Update

Joe Hewitt, the developer of Facebook for iPhone has detailed some of the upcoming features in Facebook 3.1.

ReadWriteWeb had a chance to talk with Hewitt and learn more about the app's roadmap. In the interview he mentioned three new features...

Contact list synchronization between your Facebook friends list and your phone's contact list
"It's a Terms of Service thing more than a technical limitation,"

Push notifications
"I plan to have it in the next major update, the 3.1. It will be the same kind of notifications you get on the website. I probably won't right off the bat give you chat notifications. If you've ever used Facebook's SMS notifications, you can have pretty granular control and it will be the same level of notification in terms of whose notifications you see and what categories you see."

Saved, site-wide search
"I hope but I can't promise to get that into the 3.1 update," Hewitt said. "We're still working on getting that into the API. I'm also hoping to let you save a search to your home screen."

No word yet on the planned release date for Facebook 3.1; however, we will let you know as soon as anymore information is available.

Using two iPod touches and a mixer, the video first shows how to beatmix. The volume slider is left open so you can hear what is happening. Normally, the volume slider is down while cueing so the audience doens't hear the two records when they're not in sync yet.
After the beatmix, some simple scratching is performed.

The New iPhone 3gs

Apple Announces iPhone 3GS - 3 Megapixel Camera, Magnetometer, Video Recording, Voice Control and More

It looks just like your old iPhone, only it’s more awesome. WWDC’s biggest announcement has been made, and it’s for the next generation iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 3GS. (Hint: the S stands for sexy.. or maybe just speed).

Apple (NSDQ: AAPL)’s announcement today of the iPhone 3GS effectively relegates the iconic iPhone 3G (8GB) to lower-tier status as a $99 entry-level iPhone. What makes the new iPhone 3GS the new hotness worthy of replacing the iPhone 3G?

Let us count the ways:

* The iPhone 3GS boasts an upgraded 3.0-megapixel camera with autofocus (tap-to-focus)
* We’re finally able to record true-blue video at 30 FPS - videos can be editing on the iPhone 3GS, with support for one-touch video uploading to YouTube
* The new iPhone 3GS features Voice control - control playlists and make phone calls with your voice
* A digital compass allows for more accurate position data and turn-by-turn GPS
* Much faster processor and 256MB RAM allows for at least 2x times speed increases when running native iPhone apps
* iPhone 3GS comes pre-loaded with OS 3.0 goodies like cut and paste, universal search, stocks, and voice memos
* MMS via AT&T (NYSE: T) later this summer
* Tethering via everybody else but AT&T
* Nike+ integration
* Battery life improved: 9 hours of WiFi use, 10 hours of video watching, 30 hours of audio listening, 12 hours of 2G talk time

You can get the full spec rundown over here. To ditch antiquated stock mark the new iPhone dawn, Apple has slashed the price of the iPhone 3G to $99 and $149.

The iPhone 3GS, however, will be available June 19th for $299 for the 32GB model, and $199 for 16GB model, both available on preorder from AT&T starting tonight. Canada, France, Germany, UK, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland should also have the iPhone 3GS available for June 19th. All in all, it looks like a solid incremental upgrade for the iPhone, if nothing mind-blowingly new.

Those who are still rocking the original iPhone will be feeling the squeeze to upgrade to the 3GS, but even then, the operating system upgrade to version 3.0 will probably be enough to sate most users. What do you guys think of the new iPhone? Is a smoother experience and a new camera worth the money? Does video recording, turn-by-turn GPS navigation and improved battery life make the iPhone 3GS worthy of the $199 price-tag?

Brain Boost Multiply - iPhone App Store

Brain Boost Multiply is an educational game to help improve your math skills(multiplication tables). You go through the levels(from 1-12). So level 1 teaches gives you random questions that include 0s and 1s. . .level 2 gives you questions that include 0s, 1s, and 2s. . .etc.

The application tracks which questions you get right/wrong and how long it took you to answer it. If you just want to practice a particular # you can do that by picking the level you want to play.

Best iPhone Game - Super Monkey Ball

Super Monkey Ball's simple, albeit slightly left-of-center premise finds you guiding a monkey encased in a transparent ball to a goal. There are two catches: You control the environment, not the monkey, and the path to the goal becomes increasingly perilous. The simple formula works incredibly well and calls to mind the classic gaming of Marble Madness. The main game is broken down into three modes--normal, practice, and competition. Normal mode is essentially a port of the arcade game, offering a choice of three selectable difficulties. Each difficulty setting offers its own set of progressively difficult levels. Practice mode lets you perfect your skills on stages you've already cleared. Competition mode shows off one of the game's biggest strengths: its multiplayer support. While one to four players can play normal mode, they have to alternate turns. Competition mode, on the other hand, actually lets two to four players play the game simultaneously on a split screen.

In addition to the main game, Super Monkey Ball offers two original modes, party game and minigame, which offer a variety of gameplay but keep to the simplicity that makes the main game mode so appealing. Party game mode offers three games--Monkey Race, Monkey Fight, and Monkey Target. Monkey Race is a solid little racer for up to four players, complete with power-ups. You'll choose from three types: a six-course grand prix, time attack, or one-course race. Monkey Fight is a one-to-four-player brawl in one of three arenas featuring a jungle, ice, or space theme. In this mode, your monkey's ball is outfitted with a telescoping fist, which you smack opponents with. The goal is to knock your opponents off the edges of the stage as many times as possible. Monkey Target is an eclectic game for up to four players that's one part Pilotwings and one part darts. The goal is to earn points by launching your monkey off a platform and gliding it to a pad floating in the surrounding ocean. Different parts of the pad are worth different numbers of points--and successfully coming to rest on them will earn a certain score. To keep things interesting, you'll spin a roulette wheel at the start of each round to see if the game will place aerial hazards in your way.

Minigame mode makes you work to unlock the games it has to offer. When playing through the main game in single-player mode, you'll earn points. For every 2,500 points earned, you'll be able unlock one of three games--Monkey Billiards, Monkey Bowling, and Monkey Golf. Monkey Billiards lets one to two players try their hand at nine ball, monkey style. Monkey Bowling is a bowling game that offers two game options, standard and challenge. Standard mode is a straightforward bowling game for up to four players. Challenge mode is a single-player game that tests your bowling skills by offering different pin layouts in the lane for you to knock down. Finally, Monkey Golf is a miniature-golf game with two variations, stroke play and match play. Stroke play is a one-to-four-player game of 18-hole golf. Match play is a two-player competition in which your goal is to get your ball in the hole before your opponent does.

Super Monkey Ball offers a nice upgrade of the arcade version. While the graphics are very simple and cartoony, they have been freshened considerably. Super Monkey Ball makes good use of the GameCube hardware, offering clean, colorful graphics. While the four selectable monkey models and the various levels are simple in design, they are generously modeled with well-textured and shaded polygons and have a very rich look. Reflective chrome, particle effects, lighting effects, bump mapping, reflection mapping, and hi-res textures are all on display to varying degrees. The hardware handles the onscreen action quite well, maintaining a high frame rate even in four-player split-screen. The game's sound, while good, is probably the weakest aspect of the game. The game's soundtrack is a catchy mix of tunes that calls to mind some of Sega's best game music from back in the day. The monkey cries are a bit weaker, however, as they lack variety. The other sound effects in the game are solid but unspectacular.

Super Monkey Ball should be a pleasant surprise in the GameCube lineup when the system launches. Solid graphics, addictive yet accessible gameplay, and some of the best multiplayer action on the system make it a winner. New GameCube owners couldn't ask for a better party game to play with friends.
